MEET THE STAFF
FAYEZ AYOUB | Lead Pastor
Fayez grew up in Tallahassee and his family was a part of North Florida for most of his life. He became a follower of Christ at the end of his 9th grade year. He felt called to the ministry his senior year in high school. He started as the senior pastor in March of 2018. Fayez went to college at Clearwater Christian College and earned a Master of Divinity degree from Virginia Beach Theological Seminary. He also earned a Doctor of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
His journey in ministry includes serving at Christian summer camps and helping at church plants. After seminary, Fayez spent a year working with a missionary and church planter in Australia. When he returned to the States, he began to work at First Baptist Church of Merritt Island. He served there for almost 13 years in a variety of roles, including Youth Pastor, Children and Family Pastor, and Pastor of Outreach.
EDDIE TURNER | Discipleship & Worship Pastor
Eddie joined the North Florida ministry team in March of 2023. A native of North Carolina, he has served as a worship pastor in Tennessee, Kentucky and Florida. He earned degrees from Mars Hill University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. While in Louisville for seminary, Eddie was blessed to meet and marry his wife, Rhonda, who has become his treasured partner for life and ministry. He and Rhonda enjoy being the parents of Nick, Macie, and Zac.
Eddie has a deep longing for people to know and love the one true God! He wants people to see Jesus for who He really is and personally experience His mercy and grace! This passion fuels his service as Discipleship and Worship Pastor.
ALEX MONTANEZ | Children's Director
Alex is originally from Tampa, Florida but now calls Tallahassee home. She attended Florida State University where she met her husband Trey. Throughout her time at FSU, Alex volunteered in children’s, youth and college ministry. She joined the NFBC family in 2021 and began teaching 3rd grade at North Florida Christian School. She is thrilled to continue to work in ministry, and sharing the love of Christ with children. She hopes to help NFBC families in discipling the next generation.
REBECCA SORENSON | Nursery & Pre-K Director
Rebecca has lived in Tallahassee almost her whole life and calls it home. She is a North Florida Christian School graduate and holds a B.A. in Elementary Education with Interdisciplinary Studies from Liberty University. Rebecca interned in Children’s ministry while in college, and, after graduating, taught 1st grade for a year. Rebecca has volunteered in Children's ministry at her local church since middle school and enjoys working with kids to teach them about Christ’s love! She seeks to encourage and build up the families we serve!
